Office Application Version Does Not Match What?
Bit of an odd one this error message. It is issued when you start Microsoft Word 2007 (or indeed Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007 or Publisher 2007) on a computer that has Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager installed. You can download a a patch that will stop this error message appearing here.
The version number in question is that of Outlook 2007 and it can change by installing a hotfix for Outlook and also installing an update for Outlook. Why the other Office Applications are validating the version number for Outlook is beyond me. If you run Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager, the "Business Contact Manager for Outlook" add-in is automatically installed. You guessed it. Installing this add-in updates the version number and triggers the display of the "Office application version does not match" error message.
If you're the kind of person who likes to get the bonnet up and risk causing untold and irrevocable damage to their computer, there's a workaround here.
