Content Controls In Word 2007

Content Controls are the editable regions of Building Blocks and there exist the following types:

  • Rich Text
  • Plain Text
  • Picture
  • Drop Down List
  • Combo Box
  • Date Picker

All the controls share the following properties:

  • Locking
  • Titles
  • Tags and IDs (to identify them)
  • Placeholder Text
  • Self destruct (use once only)

When you use Content Controls in a document, you'll notice that when you're not editing them, there's no user interface at all distinguishing them from regular content (in other words, the frame above only appears when you're inside the control's content)
